January 15-16, Studio 180 Dance owner, Katie Carpenter King, Miss Brooke, and members of the competition team headed back to DC for the Tremaine Dance Convention at the Renaissance Washington Hotel. Founded in 1981, Tremaine Dance Conventions and Competitions tour annually bringing professional instruction to dancers nationwide. In sessions led by founder and renowned dancer, Joe Tremaine, Keri LaGrande, Laurie Johnson, Jeff Amsden and Tony Belissimo from So You Think You Can Dance, studio dancers and faculty learned new choreography and performed.
Carpenter King knows her accessible Annapolis studio location is a plus for her students..."because we are so near Washington and New York, we have opportunities like the 'Tremaine Convention' and last week's 'Jump' to learn from and dance with these greats. Our dancers did a spectacular job. We are very proud of them and so grateful to their families for their support. "
Studio 180 Dance offers instruction in the traditional disciplines of ballet, Pointe, tap, jazz, modern, hip hop, and lyrical, as well as aerial dance, ballroom, and Zumba®. All dancers are welcome, beginner through professional levels, ages 3 through adult. Studio 180 Dance also hosts a competitive dance team.
